July 23, 2025 - In 2024, MGI International, LLC (MGI) voluntarily self-reported to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) concerns that one of its employees had directed MGI’s subsidiaries to report the wrong country of origin to CBP resulting in lower duty payments. After a thorough investigation and proactive engagement with the government, MGI’ s subsidiaries have agreed to a civil settlement with the government in connection with this matter and MGI has fired the employee. MGI’s voluntary disclosure, cooperation, and remedial actions were positively recognized by the government and taken into consideration as part of the settlement. MGI is committed to maintaining its status as a trusted business partner and leading global plastic resin distributor and will continue to serve all stakeholders with integrity in accordance with its Code of Conduct.
